Calgary Home Prices to Increase

According to a new report by a national real estate company expects home prices to rise by 3.8% by the end of 2011. The price and market survey reports that detached bungalows decreased in price (1.8%) last year while 2 story homes fell in price just slightly less (2%). This year, the average sale price is up by 1.0 per cent to $472,330.

Just recently, CREA forecasted that Alberta home sales will improve by 7.3% in 2011, and then 6.8% more in 2012. The year-over-year percentage hikes are the highest in Canada in each of the next two years. Despite recent economic issues in Europe and the US, Canada and Calgary's economy are expected to continue to do well. There is strong full time job growth and plenty of migration to Calgary.
