Southwest Calgary comprises the largest real estate district in the city and it continues to expand southward and westward. Lowest Home Prices

The average home price in the southwest real estate zone is about $560,000. Those neighbourhoods with the lowest home prices are Bridlewood, Cedarbrae, Braeside, Millrise, Kingsland, Shawnessy, Somerset, Westgate, Woodlands, Rosscarrock and Mission. Typically, these neighbourhoods are the only ones where you'll find homes less than $400,000. That makes these neighbourhoods the most affordable places to live and many are in established areas where you'll have mature trees and parkland. The neighbourhoods near the Glenmore Reservoir, Fish Creek Park and Edworthy Park offer the most natural park areas for walking, hiking, cycling, and wildlife. Neighbourhoods such as Spruce Cliff, Discovery Ridge, Wildwood, Shaganappi, Glendale, North Glenmore, Bel Aire, Lakeview, Chinook Park, Oakridge, Cedarbrae, Woodlands Park, Canyon Meadows, and Evergreen have closest access to southwest Calgary's best natural settings.

Calgary Real Estate Zones

There are four Calgary Real Estate Zones: Southwest, Southeast, Northwest and Northeast. Each area of the city offers its own ethnic style and diversity, commuting access, access to parkland, shopping and entertainment, and proximity to the Transcanada highway west to Banff. These are elements that are typically important to many buying a home in Calgary. Some neighbourhoods are on hills which overlook parts of the city such as the Bow River, Downtown Calgary or west to the Mountains.
